Cardiff City ended pre-season with a creditable draw against Serie A side Parma. The Bluebirds looked bright at times and came close to opening the scoring but were held to a 0-0 draw in a game of few chances.

It was new signing Kenny Miller who came closest, hitting the post after reacting quickly to a save by the Parma keeper. Miller worked hard throughout and provided a good outlet, if lacking in a cutting edge.

Earnshaw also came close, but was ruled offside while Peter Whittingham and Joe Mason also caught the eye. City played with an unusual formation, with Don Cowie more central compared to his usual position wide on the right.

Pre-season has been mixed for City, but few goals scored but some decent run-outs. Next Sunday will provide a huge challenge with a daunting away trip to face West Ham.
