Cardiff City are reportedly chasing Dutch Second Division stiker Cecilio Lopes.

Lopes currently plays for FC Dordrecht in Holland and has caught the eye of many clubs with a prolific goal-scoring record. The forward has amassed an impressive 18 goals in 24 appearances so far this season.

The 27 year old striker is out of contract in the summer and seems set to leave Dordrecht and the club could be forced to accept bids now rather than lose the player for nothing in July.

However Cardiff face stiff competition for the striker’s signature with Derby, Barnsley and Watford all linked to the striker.

Dutch club RKC Waalwijk have made an official offer to Dordrecht and are currently favourites to sign the in-demand striker for a rumoured fee of 75000 euros although Derby County are thought to be preparing a higher bid to try to lure the striker to Pride Park
