Cardiff bid for striker rejected

Cardiff City have made a move for highly rated Luton Town forward Rowan Vine. The 24 year old striker has impressed this season and has 12 Championship goals to his name following a decent start last season after a £250k move from Portsmouth.

Luton have struggled after a good start to the season but Vine has been lively both times the Hatters have faced Cardiff City. He is a good proposition and could form a partnership with either Steve Thompson or Michael Chopra up-front.

The bid for Vine has apparently been rejected outright by the Luton board after falling way short of their valuation of the player. Cardiff may well put in another bid to land a player who would certainly add fresh impetus to their ailing promotion campain.

The Hatter’s are under little pressure to sell after boosting their bank accounts with the £1.5 million sale of Carlos Edwards to Sunderland this week.
