Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was delighted with the result and the commitment shown by his weary squad after seeing them remain in with an outside shout of making the play-offs. Jones told BBC Sport:

‘It was a tough match as Blackpool are a very hard-working team. We took our foot off the gas after the third goal and probably had to work far harder than necessary in the closing minutes.’

‘We haven’t given up on the play-offs but it is difficult for us with the FA Cup final coming up, but we will all keep on working hard.’

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson was disappointed after missing the opportunity to pull further away from relegation worries:

‘It was a disappointing performance with no energy or life in it and that is surprising for this team.’

‘We did a little better after scoring the goal but it was too little and too late.’

I admire the way Dave Jones has bounced back from his awful treatment at the Saints.
