Cardiff City have apparently released their 2015-16 summer plans to the press, although I can see no confirmation on the official site.

Wales Online explain that we will begin pre season with friendlies against Forest Green Rovers and Shrewsbury, before going on a tour to Holland in July and then a number of friendlies will follow, including hopefully two Cardiff City Stadium ties against a Premier League club – but lots of specifics are yet to be clarified.

The Dutch trip will see us based in the Amsterdam area and it’s expected we will face two top flight Dutch league clubs on July 21 and July 24 during our time there.

It’s hoped specifics will be known about the tour by next week, although the paper rules out a game against Ajax leaving AZ Alkmaar, Den Haag, Utrecht, FC Breda, Willem II and Vitese as likely driving distance options.

For the home tie, if we can’t get a Premier League club, it’s said we will look to opposition from France or Spain.

With player programmes now given for summer fitness work, pre season will start a week earlier on June 25 as Slade attempts to rectify all ‘fitness’ issues that he’s spoken about this season.

There is also a boot camp set for Leicester on July 5 for a week days.

‘It`s no jolly. That is going to be hard work for six days. We have the use of a football pitch and will probably have an internal match of 25 minutes each way during the week.’

The full scheduled as pencilled so far.

June 25: Players report back – individual fitness testing.

July 6: Squad go to Champneys Springs Resort in Leicestershire for a one week boot camp.

July 15: Forest Green Rovers v Cardiff City. 22 players used over the 90 minutes.

July 18: Shrewsbury Town v Cardiff City away.

July 19: Cardiff players go to Holland for the start of their pre-season tour.

July 21: First match on tour v club from top Dutch division. Opposition to be confirmed next week.

July 24: Second match on tour v club from top Dutch division. Opposition to be confirmed next week.

July 28: Pre-season fixture, to be confirmed. Possible Premier League, French or Spanish opposition at home.

August 1: Pre-season fixture, to be confirmed. Possible Premier League, French or Spanish opposition at home.

No doubt the bones will soon be put on this as further things are confirmed and clarified.
