Cardiff 1-1 Scunthorpe (Report)

Cardiff City endured another frustrating afternoon in a scrappy game against Scunthorpe United today.

The first half was a tightly contested affair with neither side creating real chances but Cardiff City did take the lead when Hasselbaink skipped past a challenge on the right, and crossed for Stephen McPhail, thats right, STEPHEN McPHAIL to knock home from close range.

Cardiff dominated the rest of the game but Scunthorpe levelled proceedings in the second half as hesitant defending allowing Jim Goodwin to rifle home across debutant Kasper Schmichael.

Despite forming some half chances, Cardiff couldn’t get another and regularly disappointed the small crowd with wasted possession and lack of creativity.
