Cardiff City’s prolific striker Michael Chopra was ratedd the 5th best performer in the Championship according to the Actim Statistics.
The index tallies various in-game statistics including goals scored, shots on target, , passes, tackles, blocks and clearances while also taking into account fouls and offsides to give an accurate insight into all round contributions of individual players.
Whilst 21-goal Chopra made the top ten, there was a big jump to find the next best Cardiff City player in Joe Ledley (who led the rankings early on) in 45th position.
Other Cardiff City players who made the top 100 were:
Paul Parry in 50th position.
Goalkeeper Neil Alexander in 53rd (6th best goalkeeper).
Riccy Scimeca was 81st while Purse, McPhail and Steve Thompson made the 90s.
The Index seems heavily weighted towards strikers with 9 players of that position making up the top 10. There were omissions for Loovens and Johnson, who both missed chunks of the season but Kevin McNaughton was a notable absentee for the list despite impressing in his first season.

How can you argue with the stats when they are calculated equally for everyone???
O right i thought u wrote “disapointed” lol
your tail off after such a promising start has cost your club dear , I guess its no surprise that you did not end up with many in the top 100
How anyone can say McPhail or Thompson had a better season than Loovens or McNaughton – I’ll never know!
Since we have a v small squad, our players should have picked up more points on account of playing more minutes – shows what a dismal end it was !
