Cardiff City have experienced the unusual feeling of having a transfer bid accepted by Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers this time for winger Chris Burke.

Burke is out of contract in the summer, so rather than lose him for nothing, the Gers have accepted an offer from Cardiff City – of around £150k for the player.

Burke travelled down from Scotland for a medical in Cardiff today, he will then discuss personal terms with Ridsdale and Jones but Cardiff City will be reluctant to meet the £12k per week wages he was picking up in Glasgow.

City have moved quickly to fill the void left by Wayne Routledge’s sudden departure. If he signs quickly enough, Burke could be in the City squad to face Derby County on Saturday.
