A £3m offer has apparently been made by Birmingham City in an attempt to secure the services of prolific Championship striker Cameron Jerome. Jerome made public his desire to play in the Premiership but would be tempted to join a large club such as Birmingham and seems almost certain to leave Cardiff this summer.

The offer consists of an initial payment of £1.5m followed by additional bonuses most likely including a promotion fee as well as money based on appearances and goals. The offer may not appeal to Dave Jones as he will want money up-front to invest in this summers major squad re-vamp.

Brum. join Sheffield United in having made a firm offer for Jerome but with Norwich, Manchester City, Everton and managerless Charlton also said to be considering bidding.

City fans and management will be hoping that a bidding war ensues to push the price up for the 18 goal striker and while Jones is reluctant to sell players without lining up a direct replacement, he will want to know his budget asap and Jerome’s sale is likely to produce the bulk of the transfer kitty.
