Manager Neil Warnock has described Cardiff City’s performance over Leeds United as the best showing since he arrived at the club.

Making the trip to Elland Road for the game, goals from Sean Morrison and Kenneth Zohore gave us the two nil victory on the day and it was a crucial three points as we pulled a bit further up the Championship table.

Speaking to the Official Site in his post game press conference, for Warnock it was the ‘best performance since I’ve been at the club’ and that was the icing for him.

‘It was the best performance since I’ve been at the club and in the circumstances it’s not far off being the best away performance since I’ve been a manager. Because it was complete, even down to the save at the end to make sure we got the clean sheet.’

The former Leeds gaffer went on to say.

‘The two centre-halves were outstanding, the midfield did their job and we’ve created chances which is not something we do enough of. I thought every department was fantastic with Kadeem Harris, a winger, heading it off the line just epitomising that. To get a win here like that is great.’

Skipper Morrison was also interviewed after the game and he felt we’d been playing well of late but not quite getting the results we probably deserved.

‘I think we`ve been playing well in recent weeks. We`ve battled away but we`ve not always been able to do it in the final third or keep enough clean sheets. It was the perfect performance, we were solid, hard to beat and we grew into the game. I thought they started the the better team which they were always going to with 30,000 fans behind them. We stuck to the game plan, knew what we had to do, got our first goal from a set piece and then Ken Zohore put it to bed by making it 2-0. So we`re absolutely delighted!’

With Morrison getting the opening goal on the day, he knew it would be a great confidence boost for everyone – especially given the form of Leeds so far this year under Garry Monk.

‘I`ve had a lot of chances this season so it`s nice to see one go in the bottom corner. Nooney put a great ball in, it was on a plate for me really, and I couldn`t miss it to be honest. To come to a place like this and get a clean sheet and a win when Leeds are on a terrific run shows we`ve got nothing to fear in this league.’

He went on to add.

‘We believe in ourselves, we always have done, under the gaffer we`re very solid and we know what we`re capable of. If we can keep putting in performances like this, then we`ve got every chance of finishing as high as we possibly can. We`ve got Derby away on Tuesday which is going to be a very difficult game but if we go up there and put in a similar performance then we`ve got every chance of coming back with at least a point and possibly all three.’
