Baited Breath? All Quiet On The Cardiff City Front

Cardiff City fans have endured a tough few feews with absolutely no transfer action coming in or out of the Cardiff City Stadium. The lack of activity is frustrating especially as we continue with exactly the same midfield as failed so miserably at times last year.

The Ledley to Everton, Hull City, Stoke City, Fulham, Wigan Athletic story seems as old as Ninian Park ever was and yet there is no firm action. Hull are the most open suitors, but baulked at the price tag and thats been that for the past 2 weeks.

A media storm broke over Ross McCormack’s transfer request, except that it wasn’t. A leaked phone call changed nothing, yet sparked heated debate within and outside the club. The upshot is that McCormack isn’t content to play out wide and sit on the bench all season so would consider options. Hull City and Portsmouth have enquired but neither seem happy to go anywhere near our valuation.

The most recent development regards our longest serving player and a possible departure. A fee was actually agreed for Paul Parry with preston, and the winger travelled North to meet with Alan Irvine. However, he feels he has un-finished business in South Wales and the silence over the past week suggests a deal may not happen. Every day that passes suggests Parry will again be a Bluebird next season.

As is those weren’t boring/dragged-out enough – there has been NOTHING by the way of firm action coming in. Rumours of a Routledge/Koumas comeback persist but both seem highly unlikely and speculation at best. We are told that Dave Jones knows his targets, and thats that. I agree we shouldn’t broadcast our transfer candidates but the waiting game is tiresome and frustrating for fans and clubs alike.

It could yet be that we’ll see a flurry or transfer activity over the coming days. It benefits everyone to give any new player as much time as possible to settle. Something will be telling every Bluebirds fan not to hold their breath…..

Drop your prices – £5M for McCormack, and £7M for Ledley is poposterous for CCC players. The world has gone mad. Pompey offered £3M for McCormack and were turned away, I think Hull would offer the same, but no more.

We were offered £6.5m for Ledley previously. Also, McCormack scored 20+ is young and a full International. Personally I would take £3.5m up-front for either but our prices aren’t bad given some others in the past e.g. Gareth Bale
