Arsenal / Spurs bid £1m for City Ace

Cardiff City’s teenage prodigy Aaron Ramsey has been the subject of a staggering £1m bid from a Premiership North London club.

The midfielder made just 1 substitute appearance for the Bluebirds first team last season and broke John Toshack’s longstanding record for the youngest appearance.

Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale confirmed the offer and described the unusual situation surrounding one of the country’s brightest young talents:

‘We have had a seven-figure offer for Aaron, but we had absolutely no hesitation in turning it down.’ Ridsdale told the Western Mail.

‘The trouble with offers like these for such a young player is that while the headline numbers are impressive, they tend to be structured in such a way that you don`t get the full amount until five years time.’

Ramsey impressed in the FA Cup youth cup last season when the captain led his side in an impressive 3-2 defeat to Arsenal who have an excellent youth set-up. The performance looks to have alerted scouts in North London and a bid of this magnitude indicates the huge potential of the Welshman.

Ramsey is staying put at the minute and we hope to see more glimpses of his talent in the Bluebirds colours next season.
