Cardiff City lost out to rivals Bristol City, eventualy going down by 1 goal to nil in a tense Ninian Park.


However, the game turned after in-form striker Steve Thompson was shown a straight red card by referee Uriah Rennie after challenging keeper Basso on 15 minutes.


From there Cardiff were up against it and conceeded from a corner in the second half, Marvin elliot with the goal.


Roger Johnson saw a free header cleared of the line by Lee Trundle in Cardiff’s best chance.


Cardiff gave it a good go, but were unable to break down The Robins and key figure Rennie brought the game to a close to the delight of the home crowd.


Disappointing for the game which turned out to be fast paced and tense but Cardiff were always struggling against an extra man.
